During the tour you will see the Basilica of Santa Maria della Steccata, the XVI century Palazzo della Pilotta – residence of the Farnese’s family – that hosts a great collection of art masterpieces, and the majestic Farnese Theater, the first one where revolving stage was installed. Then, you will reach Piazza del Duomo: do not miss the chance to enter the Church of Saint John and admire the masterpieces of exponents of the Renaissance such as the Parmigianino and Correggio.

You will see the Chamber of St Paul (Camera di San Paolo), a former convent that boasts a masterpiece fresco by Correggio; the huge Parma Cathedral and its intriguingly octagonal baptistery constructed in 1196 in stunning pale pink stone, a perfect example of the passage from Romanesque to Gothic architecture.
