Our walk opens in the heart of Rome at Campo de' Fiori, a square that changes character through the day: a market of fresh produce, herbs and local delicacies in the morning, one of the city's liveliest corners after dark. We taste our first street food among the stalls and meet the products that define Roman cooking, from seasonal vegetables to traditional specialties.

Full Description
Rome's historic center is best understood at table, and we begin where the city still shops: the market stalls of Campo de' Fiori. Surrounded by fresh produce, herbs and local delicacies, we taste our first street food and get our bearings in a square that has fed this neighborhood for centuries.
From there we walk to Piazza Navona, built on the footprint of an ancient stadium and watched over by Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, where the rhythm of the piazza shapes our next tasting. We continue to the Trevi Fountain, whose Baroque cascade and the tradition of the coin over the shoulder need no introduction, and then to quieter Piazza della Minerva, with Bernini's Elephant and Obelisk at its center.
Our route ends at the Pantheon, the best preserved monument of ancient Rome and still home to the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. Along the way we pass Largo di Torre Argentina and its ruins, and we taste traditional Roman salami, dishes served in renowned local trattorias, gelato and coffee, with a local guide explaining what we are eating and why it matters here.
Over roughly four hours we cover art, architecture and food in a single walk, at an easy pace, with time to ask questions and enjoy every stop.
